Baby's First Massage® was one of the first innovative, research-based, newborn massage training programs with proven quantitative and qualitative positive outcomes that was supported by the medical community. It was originally developed in 1989 in a Dayton OH NICU, Level II Nursery by our founder, Teresa Kirkpatrick Ramsey, BSN, LMT, CIMI, Author, along with an esteemed medical team. There was nothing like it to offer families with newborns nor medically stable infants in the NICU.
After seeing the positive outcomes, the program was further developed to train and certify qualified professionals to help in sharing the benefits of newborn massage by becoming a Baby’s First Massage® Certified Newborn Massage Instructor (C.N.M.I.).
The Baby's First Massage® Program is where you should begin if you work with perinatal clients, newborns, and their families. You will learn the 15 step newborn massage routine, newborn behaviors, and calming techniques.
